Building a garden gazebo is quite similar to building a tiny cabin, with less focus on the walls since gazebos are open to their surroundings to a certain degree. putting together the base and the frame is the most important and most time-consuming part of the project and things can get a bit more complicated if you choose a more sculptural. Painting your gazebo. once you're done building your gazebo, give it some color! prime and paint if you please, but keep in mind that painting the gazebo means a lot of prep and repainting work in the future. it's best to paint just the gingerbread features as accents, and then seal the unpainted parts with a brush-on oil sealer.. Build the posts. you will need 4 large posts for the corners. these can be whatever height or distance between that you like, but we recommend 12 ft (3.7 m) long, 4 by 4 in (10 by 10 cm) beams. mark out an even 8 by 8 ft (2.4 by 2.4 m) square where you want the gazebo to go and then dig holes for the posts using a post hole digger..
