solid wood kitchen worktops nightmare
Had a solid beech worktop (cheap one from ikea) in my kitchen and had no problems, still looks good. in the beginning i was sanding/oiling frequently but not given it much attention for a while and had no issues. as i'm currently having new kitchen fitted i'll have wood again, solid oak this time.. Hi, i am looking for advice on wooden worktops. i have a walnut worktop picked out and now everyone is telling they are a nightmare to keep. we got ikea birch tops for our stand-alone units in the kitchen. the advice from ikea was to oil them. i fit kitchens and solid wood worktops. i always spray the tops with polyeurathane laquer both. Amazing quality worktops at a great price. i ordered just from seeing a small sample and was blown away by the quality. i was even quite particular about how knotty i wanted the wood and they accommodated me and were a pleasure to deal with. the wood arrived on time with lots of communication about timing..
